Well I download Battlefeild 3 on my ps3 and it took over 2 hours then I started playing multi-player with people I didn't know but this won't cost me on my internet bill or anything will it?|||Nope its a free open public beta for them to fix bugs and see what the community thinks|||Well, the beta it self is FREE.





However, if your ISP charges you per downloads, or if you have already reached the number of gb you can download and you need to pay more to download over your limit, you may incur fees.

Obviously the graphics are really nice but the game wasnt all that fun to me. There are a lot of glitches they need to patch. Its stupid to me that there is only 1 map and game mode for the beta. not to mention that there is a stupid ammount of camping snipers|||Definitely needs server patch. What are some decent guns and setups to use in battlefield 3 beta, especially on low levels?

I'm like level 8 or 9.|||use every kit until you get the first kit weapon for all four kits, as these can be used interchangeably between factions. once you have unlocked these weapons (ie m416, m249), use them ONLY. this way you'll unlock a load of attachments that you can use when you're on either side. so yeah.





my current setup is this:

grenade launcher (m230 or something)

its awesome :D|||i stuck to the assault class default weapon m4a1 i think it is, with kobra sight, bipod/foregrip, and tactical light. for secondary it was g18. then a sprint perk

Anyone else finding the Battlefield 3 beta terrible?

I understand its a beta but if multiplayer is meant to be like this then there's no way I'm getting it.|||Beta was terrible. Really turning me away from the game. Why yes, betas are meant to find the glitches and bugs, but why in the hell did they just release the beta now. DICE has a lot of work to do to fix everything and I don't think two weeks is enough. I have Battlefield and MW3 pre-ordered, but with the way the beta was, I see myself playing Battlefield for two weeks and once MW3 comes out I am putting this to the shelves.



If they would have released the beta a month or two ago, I would feel ok about it. But two weeks is not enough time to fix all the MAJOR problems with Battlefield 3.



And yes, the graphics did get worse. For PC the graphics are unbelievable, but for consoles they are sub-par.|||John, there's only one map, you're an idiot. David, the graphics didn't get worse, you did. Dragon, don't play on hardcore servers then and I'm pretty sure you just made that BS up because I know that doesn't happen. TheOnlyAvester is correct. You get killed every second simply because DICE haven't ironed out the bugs and layout problems.|||Why does everyone think that "Beta" means "Sneak peak"? That's not what it means. Beta gaming is used to find glitches and things that can be improved. Since it's a beta, you're SUPPOSED to find the problems with it, report it, then it will be fixed when the game is released if enough people responded with that problem.





A demo is not the same thing as a beta.|||I definitively wait until it's out and get some opinions before I get it.



So far my hopes for it are a little hurt. I just played BF2, (I couldn't player BF3 at the time), and for 5 games in a row are team was being crushed by our own team killing each other with copters and tanks. This is after they stated in their feedback forums "Battlefield has always done a good job at monitoring games and booting team killers so we don't need a 'vote to kick player' button", what a bunch of BS.



@Blue Streak: No I didn't make it up, I do admit I don't remember exactly how they said it word for word, but that's pretty much what said, they acted as it they boot team killers well, and I suffered 5 games in a row ruined by team killers.



So non-hardcore mode doesn't have team kills? They could at least tear up their own base, but I guess that's less likely. I like hardcore mode though, but maybe the damage difference isn't too different, I guess I search around and find out.|||It seems a bit glitchy still. Hopefully it is just this map and game mode combination that is sub-standard. Ill still give the retail release a try, make my judgement on that, not the beta.|||Well it's only one game mode, and there's only one map so far. I mean there's a lot of glitches, but that's what beta is for|||I thought it was truly garbage. I love the realism in a way but i think the graphics got worse? Im going to stick with operation flashpoint:Red River.|||Yes I did too. It is so easy to get killed and i never get a chance to move around and kill other players. The maps are not that good either.|||An Amazing game.. Glitchy but Great.. I do not know why people do not like it.. Its really fun

ive downloaded origin so it can let me download battlefield 3 the game already finished downloading but for some reason its still going and it wont let me play the game it says 3.9 of 3.9 GB downloaded but it keeps going it has 4.1 of 3.9 downloaded what should i do should i exit out or let it keep dowloading?|||Okay, well this has happen to me numerous times and the solution for me is fairly simple. Ok so yes you should exit the download. Now try and re-download the game. It should work now and it will be faster because it pretty much saves the data already downloaded. If that doesn't work, Delete the Data from the hard drive screen and re-download.

Battlefield 3 beta unlocks and their levels?

I was just wondering if there was a list out there about battlefield 3 and what you unlock at what level and how much exp do you need to unlock things in each class and everything like that, it would be helpful to me, if anyone knows anything please let me know!!!!|||no out yet... lets wait|||go on to battlelog.battlefield.com and sign in using your ea account information. then go to the stats and progression tab and, voila! a huge database of unlocks and your progression!|||I would google the class youre looking for. i found most on n4g but they were a bit off. also, the unlocks for all weapons do have meanings. the high powered scope for the shotgun has to use slugs in order for it to hit. Dice has not went overboard with unlocks, they did a really good job actually.|||mostly pistol and shotgun leveled unlocks so far, got the m1014 at level 23 or so and the 870 mcs early on. Oh, and btw, you can put slugs on a shotgun, making the high power shotgun scopes pretty cool.|||most of the unlocks are stupid and useless. for example you can unlock a high powered scope for the shotgun. which you cant use due to the range the shot gun. Special abilities you also unlock what are mostly pointless and will never get used by almost anyone.


dice went a bit over the top on unlocks.


there are way to many scopes you can unlock and each gun you have to unlock all the same scopes over and over again for every gun (ZZZzzzz)


the you can reach rank 50 in approx 3 days.

i really need to know how to do this, please help!|||At the screen where it says invite friends press that and choose the friends you want to invite. Or you can press start at the "Find Game" screen and press square on their names. Once they are with you the friends list in the Battlefield 3 menu will turn green or when you press invite friends it's green.





That's how I did it. By the way, only 4 per squad and 12 per team.|||I don't think you can do that yet. You have to wait until the full game comes out which is the 25th of this month. It just a test to see if the multiplayer works proficiently with the guns and classes they provide. They didn't even open up the vehicles yet. But its a beta that is to be expected. So just play your heart out for now and give feedback to DICE.|||i think it is difficult... many people facing the same problem

I've seen gameplay on YouTube but how do I play it for PS3?|||You cannot play Conquest on Battlefield 3 Beta because the beta only released one map (Operation Metro) and one game mode (Rush) For some reason people have been able to get on to Caspian Border with a special password but I think that was a while ago. People who are well known on Youtube, maybe Machinima or something may be able to get on, but if you are going to play on the PS3 you have no choice but to only play Rush on Operation Metro. Sorry for the bad news, but thats the best I can do.

What is the best automatic weapon in battlefield 3 beta if I want the least recoil?

I think Whiteboy7thst used the weapon.|||The weapons in bf3 has crazy high recoil. Your best bet is using a bipod for the weapons. That way you'll have very little recoil. But in general i think the M4 carbine is the best. Very well rounded.|||UMP 45|||bf3 is old news

Yeah, PC was the lead platform which is rare these days for a multi-platform game but it does mean they took advantage of the much better CPUs/GPUs that current-day PCs have. On console to get it to look at play as they wanted it to they had to scale down the maps a little I believe. Although it doesn't mean you'll be disappointed, I would say it still looks fantastic compared to any other PS3 game you'd care to name and plays as fantastically well as a Battlefield game should. Give it a go, the only downside is the lack of vehicles in the beta and the occasional terrifying glitches!|||Available now in the psn store. Beta graphics are garbage but may be better with the full release. Yes the computer version is better but only if you have a tricked out computer.|||Graphics on PC are always better than console. Yes, the beta is out for PS3 aswell. Look under new releases on the Playstation Network Store.|||yes there is a beta for psn, xbox, and pc.

How do i make a squad with friends in battlefield 3 beta?

I invite my friends to a game before looking for a match. It even says they are in the squad. When i seach for a game and find one, it either puts them on a different squad or sometimes on the different team. It is extreamly agrivating. Please help. :)|||In beta mode this will happen alot so dont expect this to work anytime soon.





Ive seen it work for some players but only in rare cases





its done on purpose DICE knows people will try to play with friends now and that gives an advantage to them seeing as they will work better, and when people start to get their butt whooped they start to hate the game and then give it bad reviews because they cant shoot anybody|||Until they fix this within the Beta, I have found it is nearly impossible to get a full 4-friend squad into the game. Typically, I can get myself and one other friend; sometimes I can two others, but usually one of them is on the other side.



How to do a 3-friend squad (on Xbox 360):

1) Have all players - including self - go to dashboard and load up Beta fresh from the Game Library.

2) Have one person invite the other two players.

3) Once the game successfully loads a game session with all three players in the same session, you will need to navigate two of the players (who are on the same team) to get into one squad by joining and leaving squads if necessary.

4) Have the third player (who is usually on the other team), go to the game menu and select "Switch Team". **Note** It may be grayed out for sometime or give you a message regarding "the teams will be unbalanced". Take heart and keep trying.

5) Once the third player successfully switches and joins the team with the other two friends, continue leaving and joining squads until all three are in the same squad.



Yes, it is frustrating; that is why they call it a Beta. :-) Cheers!|||In my experience so far on the Xbox 360 with GREAT difficulty, in theory you should be able to use the invite section/squad manager to invite friends, then start the game but as you said, chances are it either won't load or they will end up in the opposite team. Just keep trying man.

Beta runs fine at full screen on low res. Shouldnt have any problem with the full when it comes out will I?|||Shouldn't have any problem with the full game, as long as you run it as you did in the beta.|||You should be just fine. The most they could do now is release some updated graphics through a patch. Betas usually consist of the final product. so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.|||iit doesnt matter is your computer will run it

I downloaded the beta today and every time I press find game it instantly says could not find a server to join|||Not sure, only know that the beta only goes until the 10th of October.|||most likely due to them still tweaking the servers, or high server activity. it does take a while sometimes for the game to place me in a match. dont worry too much though. just keep trying

You WILL need the medal of honor disc in order to play the CLOSED beta. But once the open beta starts, you no longer need the disc. As of now, the Xbox 360 beta only has Rush on Operation Metro. Will more gametypes be released in the Beta, other maps? Or will we just have OM Rush until the release of the full game?

EA and DICE initially planned to release the Beta on Sept. 11th. We have known for at least two months that that date was changed to "sometime in September." Some people (i.e. speculative bloggers and forum posters) think that DICE will release the beta right around the 25th of September, right after a games show in somewhere or other.

If A is the amount of days in September and B of the commencement date of the beta, and C the day of the Announcement, then it is correct as follows:

the maximum and minimum values don't tell you anything assuming they are totals

The graphics look great but I thought the gameplay was a bit too clunky, after all, it's the beta. It does have it's good things like the efficiency of the guns, the beautiful graphics, and some other perks though. It's not such a team based game anymore, audio is choppy, the graphics are nice but it's certaintly not up to par with the previous game. People worry more about themselves. And i don't like how assualt carries medkits instead of ammo. But its not like anyone uses them anyway right? I feel like its degraded so goddamn much. I'm not sure about this game at all, I might buy it simply to continue the kick *** campaign, but I don't even think the graphics and gameplay experience will satisfy me. I am SO dissappointed!|||Not at all. I was very impressed with the Beta. I know that it's difficult to get used to but when you do adjust its just an amazing experience. It most is certainly not for every one especially "lone-wolf/rushing" players.

One thing i really enjoyed was the feel of the weapons. They all have different styles of recoil and different ways to handle each weapon.

Another thing I liked was the Map. The first part of the map is pretty annoying but once you get into the tunnels, Its gets really interesting.

I'm really excited for BF3.|||I think it's awesome, i love the sniping mechanics and how the attachments actually affect how the gun preforms, the only thing i find a little disappointing is the grenades, you only have one and they aren't very powerful either, i understand they cant make them TOO powerful but a good 10 ft kill radius would be nice|||Very impressed! It does have some glitches that I found but not too anything too bad but I guess that's why its called a Beta :) anyway LOVED it and looking forward playing it on October 25 as well.|||NO, battlefield is awesome

Battlefield 3 beta graphics doesn't look that good on my computer for some reason?

For some reason when i launch battlefield 3 beta the graphics look way different then what i see on youtube. i know this is the beta but ive seen people playing the beta on pc with really good graphics. My computer is an Hp with i5-2400s processor with 8 g of ram and has a Radeon HD 6450 video card|||I'm sorry to tell you but those are the actual graphics- its not really all that impressive looking. See, on YouTube, you're viewing the game on a tiny little screen that condenses everything and makes it look much better. However, when you view the real deal on a full computer screen, the problems start coming to light. I thought the same thing when I booted up the beta on my PS3 this morning. Granted, its the PS3 and not a PC, but I watched countless videos and it looked great from what I could tell... Then, I got in game, and it looked like a crapfest.

It will be sometime this month most likely near the end. DICE said it would be 12 months within the medal of honor release date.

Hi I downloaded the battlefield 3 beta for ps3, I was wondering since i preordered battlefield 3, does the stats actually count from the beta and unlocks when I get the disc version? Thanks.|||No, ranks and unlockables will not carry over to the full game.



Edit: Still not sure how if people's ranks carrying over to the full game would mean they wouldn't buy the full game, the beta is getting shut down either way and you are missing many modes on the beta compared to the full game.|||I haven't booted the beta yet, so I don't know if there will be unlocks in the main game. I heard that tge open beta is on the 6th and the closed medal of honor battlefield 3 beta is TODAY. i have checked on my Medal of honor but nothing.|||EA and DICE didn't pronounce about it, so there aren't any oficial words about this matter. I think that news are false.


There are rumors saying that the beta will come the day 19, but i also think this is false.

You don't have to have a preorder of the game MOH, just the code that came with the game. You can easily find someone who has the game and doesn't want to participate in the beta, and ask them for their code. Other than that, you can sign up on a waiting list for the beta (but your chances are slim) unless many of MOH codes don't get used.

Why can I not access the Battlefield 3 Beta?

I own a PlayStation 3, When I search for battlefield 3 beta on the search bar, the beta comes up. But when I click on it, it just says, "This content cannot be accessed on your account." Today is September 29th, and Battlefield's twitter page says that the beta is now open for all. I'm listed as 21 on my PSN account, is anyone else having this problem, and hopefully someone knows how to fix it? thanks.|||they just tweeted that it would be up later today
